Meet the team
Team work is a crucial ingredient in guaranteeing patients a caring and professional service. We have always placed great emphasis on the professionalism and commitment of our practice team who contribute signifantly to the continued success of the practice. Patient care is our number one priority.
Colin Searle and Tonya Searle are the owners of Boatmans Opticians. Colin Searle has an engineering degree and has worked in optics for over 25 years. He began his employment at Roy Gill Opticians in Hornchurch, at which he was a shareholder. He also ran the lab taking full responsibility of all glazing and repairs. He has always been renowned for his ability to adjust and repair patients frames, where elsewhere patients have been told their expectations are impossible. He is now passing on his expertise to Dan our lab manager. Tonya Searle has worked in optics for 10 years and studied dispensing at the association of british dispensing opticians in Kent. Tonya also runs our visual clinic for dyslexia/colour blindness. Both Colin and Tonya work between both practices ensuring their team are continuing with the professionalism and friendliness they expect.
Donna Anderson is our principle optometrist. Donna trained at Aston University and qualified as an optometrist in 1992.Donna sees a wide variety of patients of all ages but has a special interest in children’s eye care. She loves to work for an independent optician as it gives her the ability to build a rapport with her patients, checking any changes that happen to their eyes over the years and building professional yet personal relationships with the whole family.
Mike Revell
Danella Ritson is our Dispensing Optician. Danella trained at the City and Islington University and qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 2001.
Daniel Attfield is our lab manager and has worked in optics for 9 years. He has already built a fantastic reputation at being able to repair frames, along with his helpfulness. He works closely with Colin and together they make a great team offering a service second to none.
Emily Searle is currently studying a degree in optics at the ABDO university. Before joining Boatmans Opticians she studied a fashion degree at the university of arts in London, so her natural flair is a great asset in helping patients choose the correct frame for them.
Gabriella Robertson first joined Boatmans as a work experience student in January 2009. She proved herself to be an asset to the business and when she left school joined us as an apprentice. She now works as our optical assistant/receptionist and is currently undertaking courses on lens/adjustments and general training within optics. She begins her dispensing course to become a qualified dispensing optician next year.
